JARL C. NIELSEN, M.D.

Dr. Nielsen, a native of Denmark, grew up in Auburn, California. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University. Following an internship in General Surgery in Norway and one in Internal Medicine in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Nielsen attended Baylor College of Medicine, where he did retina research at the Cullen Eye Institute, Houston, Texas. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Chicago and his Retina-Vitreous Fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Nielsen came to Reno in March, 1994, after three years with Inland Retina Consultants in southern California to form Nevada Retina Associates.
